About the Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Mechanical Engineering Department was established in 2009. The Mechanical Engineering Programme in PSNCET has been approved by the National Board of Accreditation, Govt. of India. Today, the Department of Mechanical Engineering of PSNCET attracts an extraordinarily rich diversity and quantity of talented individuals, with over 200 undergraduate (UG) students (full-time), 18 postgraduate (PG) students (part-time), and 20 faculty members. The department serves as a role model for many academic institutes in and around Tirunelveli. Apart from teaching UG and PG students, the faculty of mechanical engineering actively pursue research with research scholars. Over the years, interaction with industry and emphasis on applied engineering has increased.
